Logical Data Design Modeling

An activity that includes producing a Logical Data Design Model that shows the business attributions of Entities and the verbs of Relationships between them. The model shows attributes, their data format and their key contributions. The Logical Data Design Model (LDDM) is a fourth normal form detailing of the attributes in Entities present in the CDM but also of Entities representing their dimensioning and of Entities containing useful reference and code representation information. The LDDM graphically represents a design solution to the data requirements within scope. Attribute names and/or their characteristics may be color coded to indicate additions, deletions or changes.

This is a modeling activity that pre-exists TDM. It is referred to as “Logical Data Modeling”.
