Taking A Corrective Path Back to Data Requirements Modeling

A Corrective Path is a down-up path in the sequence of data modeling activities that happens when, during or at the conclusion of an activity, one or several issues are found that warrant the need to go back to a prior activity. Business asking for additional Form attributes may cause retracing back to the Data Requirements Modeling activity and require to follow the sequence of activities from that point.

A few circumstances that don’t involve changing the data scope or the CDM can cause the corrective path back to Data Requirements Modeling to be taken. Common reason include adding, changing or removing Form attributes, constraints, listing order (output Forms only), domains, rules, etc. A Form attribute change may involve the modification of its formula or its business definition. The change to the DRM may go as far as adding a parent Form when a subselection is added to a formula.
